    ArtWalk Art and Music Festival Opens This Weekend in Fayetteville

Come on over for a “Hoppin’ Good Time” at ArtWalk 2022 in Fayetteville. Music opens on Friday, May, 6 at 4:30 p.m. with great performers Southern Light and Sophia Johnson.

The performances are free to the public and are a thank you to all for supporting Arts for Rural Texas. The artists will open their exhibits on Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. and again on Sunday, May 8. This year’s festival is held on Mothers’ Day weekend and is the perfect opportunity to bring out mom and the family for a wonderful, fun-filled weekend of shopping, wine tasting, creative endeavors and music. ArtWalk brings new artists along with performances to the region in 2022. Entering its 17th year, the event has brought thousands of visitors to shop, dine and stay in the region.

Throughout the day, musicians will entertain on the square while visitors stroll the art show and enjoy the wine tastings and food being offered. The Children’s Tent will be filled with activities for the kids to enjoy. Here they can have their face painted, do creative rock painting for the new park, make crafts and enjoy the ever popular spin art painting place.

The Big Tent entertainment opens again on Saturday night at 6 p.m. ARTS will showcase a performance by the Shake Russell Duo. For more than 50 years, Texas singer-songwriter Shake Russell, has been entertaining audiences throughout the region and all over the United States with his unique Americana style of folk rock. Opening for Shake at 6 p.m. is the popular performer Mike Stroup with the Shake Russell Duo on stage at 7 p.m.

ArtWalk Art and Music Festival will be held May 6, 7 and 8 on the square in Fayetteville. This seventeenth annual event is sponsored by Arts for Rural Texas and is a free event. The Big Tent Performances are on Friday from 4:30 until 9 p.m. and again on Saturday night from 6-9 p.m. The art exhibition, performances in the gazebo, tastings and children’s activities will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
