ARTS Unveils ‘Natural Expressions’ Exhibition by Mother-Daughter Duo
Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) is thrilled to announce the opening of Natural Expressions, featuring the works of mother-daughter duo Christy Crews Dunn and Erin Urban. The exhibition will showcase Christy’s ceramic vessels and Erin’s acrylic and watercolor paintings.
Christy is an internationally recognized ceramic artist known for her sculptural quality and hand-carved animal teapots. She creates pottery with a focus on using the wheel-thrown method and incorporates elements of hand-building. Her specialty is hand-thrown, hand-carved stoneware that is beautiful as well as functional. This includes traditional vessels, unique vessels, and animal pots that involve the assembly of multiple thrown forms. In addition to traditional glazing, Christy also hand-paints her vessels with specialty glazes. Her specialty animal teapots are sold online to collectors all over the world.
Recognized as a “Top 15” Coach in Houston by Influence Digest, Erin Urban is also a certified professional success and neuro-leadership coach. When she’s not helping clients unlock their full potential using brain-science - you can find her elbow deep in gardening, riding her bike, or playing with her pup outdoors. This love for nature inspires her artwork, a passion she’s pursued most of her life. Most recently, Erin has shifted from acrylic painting to find a love for watercolor. In her work, Erin prefers a symbolic and expressionistic style.
