ARTS Hosts Song Swap Sundays
Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) is excited to present Song Swap Sundays, a musical gathering hosted by Mike Stroup. Musicians will take turns playing songs, answering questions, and share the stories behind the melodies.
Meet our host, Mike Stroup, a seasoned acoustic guitarist and vocalist with a rich musical journey. His musical career started in bluegrass, during which he hosted a radio show at KPFT in Houston. “I heard a western swing band, then moved into western swing style and started the Wild River Band,” Mike explains. He is active in swing, western, bluegrass, country, and Americana genres, currently playing solos, duos, and some full band shows.
This Song Swap Sunday, Mike will be joined by the incredibly talented Bill Pekar. With over 30 years of songwriting and performances under his belt, Bill brings that home sweet Americana feeling through his music. Song Swap Sundays are free to attend and are held every first Sunday of the month. This month’s Song Swap will be held in theARTS Ross Gallery (114 N. Live Oak St., Fayetteville, TX) from 2:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. Join ARTS and gather for a communal celebration of music and shared stories.
