Tejas Camp and Retreat Center is celebrating Friendsgiving at Tejas and they invite the community to join them on Thursday, Nov. 21. There will be tours at 5 p.m. social time at 6 p.m. and a dinner at 6:30 p.m. They are located at 1038 PR 2191 Giddings. Tejas is hosting Thanksgiving at Tejas Nov. 29-Dec. 1. This in an opportunity to get away and book a room over the Thanksgiving weekend to spend time with your family and friends. There will be a variety of family activities, great meals and more. Foster Family Getaway will be December 7 and will include Christmas activities plus an unforgettable mudpit experience. Christmas at Tejas will be Dec. 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22. Fried Chicken Dinner
The Couples Club at Holy Cross will host their Fried Chicken Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 24 at the picnic grounds in Warda. Drive-thru only from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. All plates are $15 each and include fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. Tickets are available from the church office or any couples club member. Advance tickets only by Monday, Nov. 18.
Pie Sale
Faith Lutheran High School will have a Pie Sale along with the fried chicken dinner on Sunday, Nov. 24. All pies are a generous 9-inch size and are deep dish. Pre-orders only. Pecan pies are $30 each and Pumpkin pies are $25 each. Place your pie order by calling FLHS at (979) 2422889 or the church office at (979) 242-3333. Deadline to order pies is Monday, Nov. 18.
Wednesday Night Bible Study The Wednesday Night Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda continues their weekly study at 6:30 p.m. in the family ily room. This is a study on 1st and 2nd Kings. Game Day at Holy Cross
The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Friday, Nov. 22 from noon-2 p.m. This is a date change from the usual schedule, just for this month. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
Thanksgiving Eve worship service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
Holy Cross is looking for instrumentalists to join them in playing for the children’s Christmas Eve program, or for any Sunday morning service. If you play a special instrument and would be interested in playing for a service, please contact the church office at (979) 242-3333.
GEMS Girls to Meet
The GEMS girls (grades 5-12th) will meet on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. at Oakland Manor in Giddings to hand out the greeting card pumpkins they made, meet some of the residents and have a short devotion and singing time with them. FLHS will be hosting a game night for 5th and 6th grade students on Friday, Nov. 15 from 6-9 p.m. at the high school. There will be lots of food, fun and fellowship.
The community is invited to join FLHS on Thursday, Nov. 21 beginning at 10:30 a.m. for the 8th Annual Thanksgiving Celebration. Rev. Thomas Obersat will be leading worship. There will be a pot-luck Thanksgiving feast lunch, immediately following chapel.
