Friday, Oct. 20 is Denverado’s 80’s Night Dance Party at Zapp Hall from 7-12 p.m. Eighties attire encouraged but not required.

Friday, Oct. 20 is The Round Top Runway Fashion Show with Western Jelly at the 550 Market at The Stone Cellar. Showtime is 5:45 p.m. This experience includes live music, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres an an unforgettable fashion show. Tickets are available by visiting thestonecellartx. com.

Saturday, Oct. 21 is the Makers and Growers Market at The Halles in Round Top featuring 11 different vendors.

Saturday evening, Gary P. Nunn will take the stage at The Stone Cellar. Doors open at 6 p.m., and Risky Liver Band will take the stage at 8 p.m. This is a ticketed event.

Junk Gypsy’s Haunted Honkytonk Prom is Saturday, Oct. 21 from 6-11 p.m. and will feature Two Tons of Steel, Rio Tripiano and Jamie Marie Patek. Tickets are $40.

Sunday morning, Oct. 21, there will be a church service in the Arbors Fields before the show opens. Derek Welbourne, pastor of Life Family Church in Austin will be coming out to speak at 8:30 a.m. A pop-up from Royer’s Pie Haven will be open the rest of the day. Proceeds of pie sales will go towards their Gather n’ Grace non-profit.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 is the Warrenton Wine Walk! This event benefits CASA of Fayette, Bastrop and Lee Counties. Beginning at 5 p.m. enjoy late-night shopping, live music, and wine tastings while walking through Warrenton. Participating vendors include Lone Star Glamp Inn, Punkie’s Place, Granny McCormick’s, Zapp Hall, Campbell Building, and The Gin.

Also going on Tuesday night is the Late Night Luxury Sip and Shop at The Halles from 5-9 p.m. Over 20 vendors will be open for shopping, so don’t miss out.

Thursday, Oct. 26 is The Arbors Halloween Costume Party beginning at 6 p.m. Come shop while wearing fun costumes, enjoy great snacks and drinks, and listen to live music. Afterwards, head over to Zapp Hall for the annual prom! This year’s event is themed “Disco Alley” in honor of Tina Turner.

Friday, October 27, Jack Ingram will be performing at The Stone Cellar! Doors open at 7 p.m., opener starts at 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Shiny Ribs will take the stage. Each of these concerts will require a ticket.

Antique Show in Full Swing The FallAntique Show is in full-swing. Little Round Top is booming and the fun is just beginning. Coming up this week is the opening day of The Big Red Barn on Hwy. 237, open Oct. 23-28, and Marburger Farms, open Oct. 24-28.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The annual Oktobierfest will be held Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Gates open at 11 a.m., with the ceremonial keg tapping at noon. Enjoy Bratwursts, Kassler-style pork chops, German potatoes, sauerkraut and sides. Keg and bottled bier imported from Germany will be available. The Round Top Brass Band, Auf Geht’s and Enzian Buam will provide music until 6 p.m. Entry is free, all are Willkommen.

Monday Night Hamburger Social takes place the first, second and third Mondays each month starting at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Round Top-Carmine ISD Students have a holiday Oct. 23. Saturday, Oct. 28 is the Round Top-Carmine Fall Festival sponsored by the RTC Parent’s Club beginning at 4 p.m. There will be carnival games, a haunted house, inflatables, trunk or treating, raffle silent auction, costume parade and a pie eating contest. Pollo Asado and Sausage plates are $15, or a hotdog plate is $5. Desserts available for a free-will donation. The carnival benefits the students at RTC.

Round Top Family Library The Round Top Family Library offers several different free classes for a variety of ages throughout the week. For a full list and times for the classes, visit ilovetoread.org.

A Chess Tournament will be held Saturday, Nov. 4 for ages 5 and up. Registration begins at 9 a.m. This is a free tournament, but space is limited! Advanced registration is recommended.

Fayette County 4-H

The Fayette County 4-H Club is taking orders for the annual 4-H poinsettia sale. Each plant is $12. Make your checks payable to RT-C 4-H club. Orders accepted through Oct. 22.

Town Council

The Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofroundtop. org at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.

Church News

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. Please note there is no Mass scheduled for October. .

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Pastor John David leads adult bible study the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.

St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.

The Skaggs Brothers will be at Round Top Christian Fellowship for Friday Night Sing on Oct. 20 from 6-8 p.m. under the pavilion. This is a free event.

Please bring your lawn chairs. Round Top Christian Fellowship Church holds service at 10 a.m.

The City of Refuge Church on 237 in Round Top holds bible study on Sunday at 10 a.m. followed by church service at 11 a.m.

Birthdays

Happy birthday wishes go out to Adam Faske and Eugene Menking on Oct. 23, and Wilbert Noak on Oct. 26.
