Annual Polar Express Carmine Christmas Fest Slated Dec. 3
Mark your calendars for the Polar Express Carmine Christmas Fest coming up on Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Carmine Hall, sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce.
Over 20 vendors will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Christmas shopping.
Stew and grilled hamburgers will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for either dine-in or to-go. Tickets are $15 at the door.
Ride the Polar Express and visit with Santa from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Enjoy a musical program at 1:30 p.m., which will be presented by RT-C Elementary School students.

Christmas Craft Market
A Ledbetter Community Christmas Craft Market is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ledbetter Community Center. It is located one block off of Highway 290 at 301 W. Labadie St.
Shop for unique, one of a kind Christmas gifts including locally made crocheted items, bows, Christmas tags and ornaments, tote bags, Christmas decorations, wreaths, preserves, jellies, relishes, jewelry, wood crafts, crosses and much more.

Round Top-Carmine ISD
Thanks-is on fall break for the Thanksgiving holidays Nov. 20 to 24.
The RT-C volleyball team was defeated by Neches in five exciting, hard-fought sets in the Regional Final game on Nov. 11. The scores were 1925; 25-20; 23-25; 25-7; 14-16.
In the regional quarter finals, they had defeated Chester in 4 sets on Nov. 7. On Nov. 10, they beat D’Hanis in the regional semi-finals in three sets.
Carmine Lions Club
The Carmine Lions Club is sponsoring a food drive for the AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange. Donations of non-perishable food may be brought to the meeting on Dec. 12 or dropped off in the box at Carmine State Bank.
Carmine VFD
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting is being cancelled for November, due to the fourth Thursday being Thanksgiving Day.
The burn ban has been lifted for Fayette County. If you plan a controlled burn, please call the Fayette County Sheriff’s office at (979) 968-5856 to give them your name, location of burn, and phone number.

Lane of Lights
The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights will begin Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 24 and 25. Other dates are Dec. 1 and 2; 8 and 9; 15 and 16; and 22 and 23.
Enjoy a hayride through a lighted path of Christmas reflections. Santa will be there each night. Tickets are available from 6-8:30 p.m. at FM 1291 and Hwy 290.
It is sponsored by the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department. MLLC Rebekah Group The Martin Luther Lutheran Church Rebekah Group met Nov. 9. The ten members present were Leonita Sanders, Diana Wunderlich, Dianna Gerland, Carol Carmean, Jocie Braun, Joann Ullrich, Sedalia Ullrich, Joys Baird, Susan Ray and Nancy Eilers.
The Bible study, with the theme “Holy Places Session 3: Pilgrimage,” was led by Susan Ray.
The business meeting was called to order by President Susan Ray.
Wunderlich reported for Mission Action that quilting would take place Monday, Nov. 13. The Thankoffering service and meal were finalized. AMEN food collection continues through the end of November.
The Christmas tree in the Fellowship Hall will be decorated before the first Advent service. Congregation decorates the Chrismon tree on Nov. 26 after worship.
Rebekah Group and Worship Committee will serve the Advent meal on Dec. 13. Pulled pork will be served for the meal. Members volunteered to bring other food items.
Joys announced that the Sunday School Christmas program is on Dec.10. A meal will be served following the church service and persons wishing to attend should call the church office to reserve a meal. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal.
Birthday celebrants for November are Avalda Pohl and Colette Wunderlich.
Eilers gave the offering meditation for Carol Carmean.
The December meeting begins at noon with a potluck meal.
The meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer and the singing of the table prayer.
Hostesses were Joys Baird and Diana Wunderlich.
Carmine C of C
The fourth quarterly meeting of the Carmine Chamber of Commerce Heritage Committee will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. in the museum. The topic of discussion will be the history of the Carmine Hall (Cedar Creek Schuetzen Verein) and memories to share. If you have no memories, come to learn what others have to share and bring photos.

Thanksgiving Eve worship with Holy Communion is Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion, observing Christ the King Sunday, is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School Christmas Program rehearsal is Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 10 a.m.
The Christmas Tree will be set up and decorated after worship on Sunday.

Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

Recycling Trailer
A new time schedule is in place for the recycling trailer.
It is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
Also, there is now only an unmanned trailer in Ledbetter behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Please follow the rules at that location.
