Annual Herbal Forum and Plant Sale this Weekend

The 29th Annual Herbal Forum and Plant Sale at Festival Hill will be March 15-16. This year’s theme is “Cultivating, Creating and Cooking with Herbs.” The plant sale is Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday’s events includes talks on Yarrow, the Herb of the Year, dyeing with plants, and on pathways for connecting nature with homegrown wellness.
Spring Antiques Show
The biggest news in Round Top right now is the Spring Antiques Show. Opening day was Thursday, March 14, and the show will continue through March 31.

Round Top Family Library The library has tons of wonderful opportunities for kids during the week including story time, Junior Master Gardeners, art class, jazz dance class, chess club, and Taekwondo. RTC-ISD
The students will be headed back to class on Monday, but have three short weeks ahead. There is a student holiday on Friday, March 22, both teachers and students are off on Friday, March 29 in observance of Good Friday, and students are out Monday, April 1 for Easter. The next school board meeting is set for Monday, March 25.
Round Top Rifle Hall
The Round Top Rifle Hall’s Monday Night Hamburger Socials take place the first, second, and third Mondays of each month, the Hall is open from 5:30-8 p.m. for hamburgers, “The Rooster,” hotdogs, or chilidogs, along with fries or onion rings. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the Round Top Rifle Association.
Church News
Bethlehem Lutheran Church Bible Study met Thursday, March 7 with Pastor John David Nedbalek beginning the class by singing the camp song “All God’s Creatures Have a Place in the Choir.” The purpose was to illustrate humans are animals living in kinship and solidarity with all other creatures created and beloved by God. It is important to learn from and with them. The term “peaceable kingdom” was used to describe how everything in heaven and earth unite as one. Maydelle Copeland served as hostess. The next study will be held April 4 at 9:30 a.m. with a lesson on water and rivers. The Western Cluster Spring gathering will be at Waldeck on April 27 with registration starting at 8:30 a.m.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church will have Church Work Day on Saturday, March 16 and on the 30 if needed. Beginning at 9 a.m., any and all volunteers are encouraged to come, gardening tools en-tow. Tree limbs will be trimmed and the debris from the large Oak trees will need to be taken care of.
There is one more midweek Lenten service which will be at St. Paul on March 20, then it’s Holy Week. Maundy Thursday service will be March 28 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Paul, and 7 p.m. at BLC. Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. at BLC. Easter Sunday service will be at 7 a.m. at BLC outdoors (weather permitting), and at 8:30 a.m. at St. Paul.
The monthly Mass for St. Martin Catholic Church in Warrenton will be Tuesday, April 2 at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar.
