Annual Egg Hunt, BBQ, and Bake Sale Planned April 12 in Fayetteville
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 12. Fayetteville resident Sue Patterson is hosting the Annual Egg Hunt, BBQ and Bake Sale in the square at 10 a.m. “I’m excited about holding this for the second year in a row. The children enjoyed the event immensely last year. Spring Break at FISD kicks off next week.
City of Fayetteville
A reminder that the City of Fayetteville is increasing the costs of cemetery plots by 20%, effective April 1. City Council approved the increase. Several plots are available. Building Upgrades
Roberts and Associates are making a few improvements to the exterior of their building in the square.
Picking Park
This Saturday, musicians at Picking Park will bang out that sweet bluegrass sound on the square. The music flows from 2 p.m. until everyone’s ready to hang it up. Remember you can pick up a snack or drink at Joe’s or Orsak’s.
Courthouse Music Series ARTS Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series will feature Tina Wilkins next Tuesday. This free series is held every Tuesday on the square from 6-8 p.m. throughout March. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and picnic dinner. Joe’s Place or Orsak’s will take your to- go orders.
Fayetteville EDC Meeting All are welcome to attend the Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) meeting held next Wednesday. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 7 p.m. Discover more about the FEDC on this website: www. fayetteville.texas.gov.
ARTS Exhibit
“Connective Tissue,” a solo exhibition by Sierra Bailey, opens on Saturday at ARTS. An opening reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. This exhibition features bold contemporary works rich in color and texture.
Bailey has made a name for herself as a multidisciplinary artist over the past 30 years, and more than 60 national periodicals have featured her work.
Mobile Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John next Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. Walk up to the entrance and bring bags or carts for pickup.
Lake Fayette
Out at Lake Fayette, things are about to get hopping with lots of visitors from the Round Top Antique Show. The two parks are now privately managed by Lake Fayette Hospitality, LLC. The management is in the process of enhancing their bird trails to inspire bird watchers and nature lovers.
Egrets, blue herons, osprey and cardinals are in abundance and wildflowers will soon be in full bloom. The parks feature 25 campgrounds for RVs or tents, eight cabins and six screened shelters. They are still looking into kayak rentals. Visit https://vista-rec.com/ parks/texas/lcra/ St. Paul Lutheran Church St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John The Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
