AMEN Serves Over 300 Families In May

The AMEN Food Pantry continued to be very busy in the month of May, 326 families were served for the month for a total of 1,012 individuals.

Food donations received were 6,637 pounds. A total of 178 volunteers for 806 hours served the pantry.

The mobile food pantry in Waldeck served 72 families, 108 individuals and 4,058 pounds distributed. This is a service offered by Central Texas Food Bank; AMEN provides the labor to distribute the food. Twenty six volunteers assisted with the mobile pantry.

The spring/summer season brings fresh garden produce. AMEN welcomes fresh produce bring on Mondays at 9 a.m. till noon and Thursdays 10 a.m. to noon.

The upcoming summer months traditionally are the slowest time of year for food donations and monetary donations. As the festivities of summer are enjoyed, remember that the need for food assistance continues. AMEN continues to appreciate all in the community for their assistance at the food pantry, without your support the pantry would not be able to support the needs of the community.
