AMEN Food Pantry Serves 248 Families In December
The AMEN Food Pantry board and volunteers appreciates the community for all the support given to the pantry. The food needs were great, however with donations of food and monetary, the pantry met the needs of food. As the pantry moves forward in 2023 the need is there for food and monetary donations.
The pantry served 248 families for the month of December. There were four new clients for the month. The donations and the monetary donations given by the community have allowed the pantry to purchase products not available from the food bank. Along with the food products provided the clients are given a food voucher to HEB that can be used for food purchase. These vouchers are charged to AMEN and paid monthly.
The volunteer count was 106 with 256 hours provided to the pantry. The mobile pantry in Waldeck served 64 families with 22 volunteers. The demand was so high that not all in line received food. There were three new clients.
A reminder, food donation is needed and can be dropped off on Mondays in the morning hours from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., or Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon. If you require a special time, call (979) 9683943 and leave a message. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 571, La Grange 78945.
