Aleyn (Albers) Voss was born on May 14, 1923 near Round Top, Texas, the daughter of Elo and Agnes (Voelkel) Albers.

As a child she lived in Oldenberg where her parents had a hatchery for chickens. In 1927 the hatchery burned down, and the family moved to the Bluff area along Highway 155. The family built a new hatchery and then Aleyn was given the honor of having two sisters born there. Vernell Zimmermann, now deceased, and Jo Ann Mueller of La Grange.

Aleyn graduated from La Grange High School in 1939 and then on August 22, 1941 she married Rudolph Voss. She was blessed with three sons; Ralph and wife Mary, Ronald and wife Betty and Wayne and wife Marcy.

Aleyn worked various jobs in between children and worked delivering newspapers, worked at KVLGKBUK Radio, and volunteered at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Aleyn and five of her friends were also on a racing team in the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department, and she loved camping. She was the secretary treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary for 40 plus years.

Aleyn has four granddaughters and three grandsons and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
