About All Those Hospital Bills From St. Mark’s ...

Lots of a Fayette County residents have reported getting multiple bills from St. Mark’s Medical Center over the past few weeks, including bills from services from years ago.

The timing of the bills has raised some eyebrows, especially considering St. Mark’s budget crunch, which resulted in the cutting of half the hospital’s staff and in-patient services earlier this year.

St. Mark’s CEO Mark Kimball said the bills are legitimate.

“St. Mark’s has identified and corrected a business issue causing a delay in sending out bills for services rendered,” Kimball said. “We regret any inconvenience. Patients can go to Online Bill Pay at www. smmctx.org or call (979) 2014457 for help in reconciling payments due.”
