5K Run, Wine Festival Saturday in Round Top

A 5K Run & Wine Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 29. The 5K begins at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and the Wine Festival begins at noon. It will include local artisan booths, live music, and wines from the Wineries of the Texas Independence Wine Trail. To register for the run, visit winerun5k.com.
Round Top Fall Antiques Show
The Big Red Barn Antique Show is open for a few more days from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. Get there before Oct. 29.
Marburger Farm Antique Show is also open through Oct. 29. General Admission Tickets are $15. Early Admission tickets are $40. Gates open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 with tents opening at 9 a.m. General admission tickets will be accepted starting at 2 p.m. on opening day and last for the remainder of the week. The Stone Cellar is hosting the first annual Halloween Party with the Black Cat Choir Saturday, Oct. 29 beginning at 7 p.m. Top prizes will be given for best Halloween costume.
Other Local Events
The last Wednesday of each month, Blue Mule Winery hosts Red’s Terrific Trivia from 6:308:30 p.m. Come out to win prizes, trophies and make new friends. Teams welcome. BINGO Night at Busted Oak Cellars is Friday, Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. $5 will get you a bingo card to play until prizes run out. Liz Tipps and Travis Burns will perform Sunday, Oct. 29 from 2-5 p.m. Busted Oak’s first annual Chili Cook-Off will be Saturday, Nov. 5. Contact Susan at (979) 716-8339 for more information.
Texas Casual Cottages annual Classic Car Show will be Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m.3 p.m. Register your classic car for a $20 fee by calling (979) 337-8239.
The annual Round Top Wine Fest will be held the weekend of Nov. 4-6! On Friday enjoy live music and a wine dinner at participating locations. Saturday the wine trail kicks-off at 11 a.m. Sunday, several local eateries will host a Wine Fest Weekend Brunch. Individual tickets are $65.

Lunch Bunch The next Lunch Bunch will be Monday, Oct. 31 at 12 p.m. Pat Cox, Joanie Havlick and Noreen Barker are hosting at the Round Top Family Library Annex. Either bring something to share or your own lunch.
Round Top Rifle Hall The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA. Festival Hill Pianist Viktor Valkov will perform at Festival Hill Saturday, Nov. 5 beginning at 3 p.m. Valkov’s repertoire includes works form C. P. E. Bach, Johannes Brahms and Modest Mussorgsky. Lunch and overnight accommodations are available on campus for this concert weekend. Tickets for Festival Hill’s annual Nutcracker Ballet are for sale on the website. This year’s performance will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 from 4-6 p.m. This year’s production celebrates the 14th annual performance danced by Ovation Ballet Company. Round Top Family Library Round Top Family Library is open Monday – Friday from 1:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. After School Kids Junior Master Gardner (JMG) meets Wednesdays, from 3:30-5:15 p.m. for fourth through sixth grades.
Chess Club for ages 7 and up meets on Wednesdays from 4-5:15 p.m. Registration for this class is required.
A Situational Awareness class will be held Sunday, Oct. 30 from 2-3 p.m. Reduce your risk of becoming a victim! This class is free and for men and women ages 15 and up. Please bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair.
Operation Christmas Child boxes are available at the RTFL and available for pick-up during open hours. Please bring back filled boxes by Nov. 21.
RTFL FYI presents Flint Knapping Thursday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m. on the Library Annex Porch. Enjoy a demonstration by Round Top’s very own Jerry Hinkel and Ken Ripper. Learn more about this material and others have been used for millennia to make stone tools and weapons.
Saturday, Nov. 5 the RTFL presents Texas Snakes on the Library Annex Lawn at 10 a.m. Clint Pustejovsky has been studying snakes since he was five years old. His motto is “We give snakes the respect they deserve,” and he is bringing some snake friends.

Round Top-Carmine ISD Saturday, Oct. 29 there will be a Fall Festival at the Elementary School from 5-8 p.m. Enjoy a kid’s costume parade, high school entertainment, kids carnival, raffle and silent auction. Fajita plates are $15, hot dogs are $3 and desserts are for a free-will donation. All proceeds benefit students and staff. This event is sponsored by the RTC Parent’s Club.
Students have an early release Friday, Nov. 4 at 12:30 p.m.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. BLC will be a drop off spot for Operation Christmas Child. Items such as a stuffed animal, ball, or clothing, along with hygiene items and school supplies are great items to include in your shoebox. Please do not include perishable items such as food, toothpaste, scary or war-related items, or breakable items. The boxes will be sent-off at the end of October.
