Mark James Gerik, 51, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021.

Mark was born in La Grange on Sept. 8, 1970, the son of Frank and Clara (Janish) Gerik. He married Lisa Beseda on Oct. 30, 1993 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville.

He worked as an Electrician for Reeders A/C & Heating in La Grange for 21 years.

Mark was a man of many loves. Love for sports, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, his Labrador Natty, but mostly his friends, family, and God. On Sundays you would find him in church and then with family doing various activities, projects, or barbecuing chicken. Come fall you could find him at deer camp even if he wasn’t hunting. He always had a smile on his face even if pictures didn’t show it. His newest passion was the love he had for his first grandson Murphy who he referred to as His Little Michelin Man. Mark was very outgoing and always made a point to introduce himself to every person at an event, usually with a cold Busch Light in hand. However, it did not matter what he did over the weekend, come Monday morning he would be at work ready to tackle a new week. He always had a positive attitude about life and the simple things. Mark’s favorite phrase was “life will go on”. Fly high Mark, you are so loved.

Mark was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and KJT.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa, of 27 years; mother, Clara Gerik of Fayetteville; son, Landon Gerik and wife, Mackenzie, and grandson, Murphy Gerik, all of Huntsville; daughter, Lindsey Gerik and special friend, Ethan Heinrich, of La Grange; sister, Joan Gerik of Alvin; three brothers: Thomas Gerik and wife, Shannan, of Columbus; Gilbert Gerik and wife, Julie, of Fayetteville; Jerome Gerik and wife, Susan, of Santa Fe;; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Ruth Beseda of Ellinger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Connie Beseda of Plum and Richard and Tammy Hrbacek of Nechanitz; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
