Funeral Services for Cathy Jean Caughman are scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange with interment to follow at La Grange City Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cathy Jean Caughman, 72, passed away in her home in La Grange on April 11, 2024.

She was born in Richmond, Ind. on Sept. 13, 1951 to Charles William Knox and Millie McLemore Knox. She married the late David Caughman on July 7, 1972, and they later had one son, Shawn. They moved to Texas in 1981 for employment.

Cathy was a beautician, worked at Judy and Co. for many years and retired from Bluebonnet Trails after almost 30 years of employment as a caseworker. She was a very loving grandmother who enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports. To her grandsons she was known as “Grakie” and to her nieces she was “Aunt Cathy.” She also loved her red heeler, Bella, which she spoiled greatly. Cathy will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Cathy is survived by her son, Shawn Caughman and wife Michelle of La Grange; brother, Charles William Knox, Jr. of Alabama; sister, Brenda Gayle Duckworth of Alvin; grandsons, Tyler and Dalton Caughman; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her parents and one brother, Kelly Knox.

The pallbearers are Shawn Caughman, Tyler Caughman, Dalton Caughman, James Hoffmann, Tiger Hall, and Martin Gabriel.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange.
