Fayette County’s Briana Adams Selected for Reality Series About Musicians on CBS

Many in Fayette County have seen Winchester’s Briana Adams perform, and this fall, you can also see her perform on “The Road,” a new CBS music competition series following up-andcoming musicians in pursuit of their dreams.

The show from Executive Producer Taylor Sheridan and the team behind “Yellowstone” and “Landman,” along with Blake Shelton and Keith Urban, features Adams and 11 other emerging musicians chosen to compete in this brand new series that provides a backstage pass into the determined and unforgiving life of a touring musician.

Adams’ road to the show started with a call inviting her to audition. “The casting folks reached out and said that I should audition for this new Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan reality singing show,” Adams said. “I figured, what’s the worst that could happen? They tell me no? So I threw my name in the hat. I was very honored to have been chosen.”

Adams’ music style is one she describes as traditional. “I’ve always been a sucker for pedal steel and a honky tonk sound,” she said.

Growing up, Adams listened to her parents’ music, which has led to her musical style and influences. “I grew up listening to my parents’ music, which was a lot of classic country and classic rock. The first song I ever learned to play on guitar was Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues,” so I’d have to say that he’s up there on my musical influences list. Also, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Creedence Clearwater Revival.”

Sticking with the music scene was never a question for Adams. “I’ve always had a passion for music. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be on stage singing and playing. I got serious about learning how to play guitar in junior high, at the age of 13. I started teaching myself in September of ‘08, and my first gig was in February of ‘09. Since then, I haven’t looked back,” she said.

Also, in a recently released commercial about the show, Adams can be seen giving it her all on stage and emotionally saying, “This is something she has wanted my whole life.”

And of course, Adams has no bigger supporters than everyone in Fayette County who can’t wait for the show to premiere. “Everyone is so excited! I’ve always had a great support system. Everyone has told me how proud they are, and they can’t wait to watch,” said Adams.

“It truly means so much to me,” she added. “It’s incredibly rewarding to have an opportunity of this magnitude to share my music with the world. Something that I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl.”

For Adams, we hope all roads lead to even greater stardom and that this road is only the beginning.

The Road premieres Sunday, Oct. 19, on the CBS Television Network and will be available to stream on Paramount+.
