At their monthly meeting held Tuesday, May 19, members of Fayette Memorial VFW Post No. 5254 and Auxiliary of La Grange commemorated Loyalty Day and Memorial Day. They heard a presentation about Loyalty Day given by VFW Post Commander Richard Gray. Loyalty Day, always celebrated on May 1, is a day set aside for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and for recognizing the heritage of American Freedom. Also, Memorial Day, observed on May 25 in 2026, is a day to honor all U.S. Military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces. Members enjoyed fellowship and dinner that included a special cake for the occasion. VFW Post No. 5254 members and officers from left, Scott Jones, John D.
