Three LHS Students Receive Auxiliary Scholarships

Three high-achieving La Grange High School graduates from the Class of 2026 joined the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 102 at a recent meeting to be honored and awarded their college scholarship. Each recipient is a descendent of a veteran and earned this honor through a competitive review by the Auxiliary’s Scholarship Committee. The Auxiliary has a robust history of honoring the descendents of veterans with scholarships year after year. Members of the Scholarship Committee: Marilyn Kothman, Phyllis Chavarria, Elaine Matthys; Scholarship Recipients: Ella Nygren planning to attend Texas A&M; Elena Supak planning to attend University of Texas; and Ella Janacek planning to attend Texas A&M; Auxiliary Officers: Mary Battle, Unit President; Peggy Pfeiffer, incoming Unit Treasurer; Stacy Ryza, Unit Secretary/Treasurer.
