The Texas Women’s League presented grants to local charitable organizations during a ceremony at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange on Wednesday, May 6. The funds were raised at TWL’s annual gala held on March 7. This year’s grants totaled $83,000, down slightly from last year. “With the economy the way it is, budgets are tighter, but we’re very proud of what we were able to accomplish,” said TWL President Tiffany Surman. A few grant recipients were unable to make it to the presentation ceremony. Recipients not pictured were La Grange ISD’s Camp Invention, CASA of Bastrop, Fayette and Lee Counties, La Grange Education Program Support Foundation, and Tejas Health Care. Photos by Andy Behlen
