St. Paul Serbin to Host 5th Annual Chili Supper, Cook-Off and Auction March 1

St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin will be the site of the 5th Annual Chili Supper, Cook Off and Auction on Sunday, March 1.

The fun begins at 4 p.m. There will be a silent auction, bake sale, live auction and a meal served from 5-7 p.m. Limited meal tickets are available at the door. $7 for cup of chili, or two hot dogs. There will also be a chili cookoff with check in at 1 p.m. Registration for cook-off teams is $25 and prizes will be awarded. Deadline for cook-off team registration is Feb. 27.

FLHS Spring Raffle 

Tickets are now available for the Faith Lutheran High School Spring Raffle. The Board of Directors have put together an amazing slate of items, including a $1,500 Travel Voucher, $1,400 Stihl Package, Handmade Quilt, Dessert of the Month, plus many other great items. Tickets are $20 each and the drawing will be held the week of March 2-6, during National Lutheran Schools Week. A limited number of tickets will be available. TWHS Annual Fish Fry 

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society will host their Annual Fish Fry on Sunday, March 15 in Serbin. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling (979) 366-2441 or email

museum@texaswendish. org. Deadline to reserve tickets is Wednesday, March 11.

Congregation Open House 

St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin is hosting a Congregation Open House celebrating St. Paul Lutheran School on Sunday Feb. 22, immediately following their 8:30 a.m. worship service. This is an opportunity to explore the school, tour the classrooms, and celebrate the shared ministry of Christian education within the congregation. Everyone is warmly invited to attend and enjoy fellowship and refreshments after the service.

Camp Lone Star Family Day 

Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have a Family Day on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This includes a day full of adventure, connection, and Christ-centered fun for all ages. There is no cost to attend, however you are asked to register by March 14. Everyone is invited to join them for some quality family fun. Spring Break Day Camp will be March 9-13, designed for campers age 5-13 years old. Lifequest will be March 20-22, for grades 6-8. Summer Camp registration, for campers age 5-18 is open. Register at

Tejas Camp and Retreat Center in Warda will have their Annual Serve Day on Saturday, March 28. This is an opportunity for you to join in and help with some camp projects.

Central Texas Food Truck 

The Central Texas Food Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 10-11 a.m. Drive-thru only.

Sewing Circle 

The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. This is around the back side of the church. No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions.

Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be

held Thursday, March 19 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Mid-week Lenten Services will be held on Feb. 25, March 4, 11, 18 and 25 at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The GEMS group (girls in grade 5-12), are invited to a special “Gathered in Grace” tea on Sunday, Feb. 22 at Holy Cross in Warda at 2 p.m.
