Somerville Teen Arrested, Charged With Trail Ride Murder Here

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting that occurred at the “Best Thang Smoking” trail ride at the R.C. Pavilion on Munke Rd. on April 26.

After a lengthy investigation and interviews of witnesses, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and the Texas Rangers were able to obtain information and evidence which lead to identifying the suspect and obtained a warrant.

Robert Earl Crawford III, age 19, of Somerville Texas, is charged with the offenses of Murder and Aggravated Assault Mass Shooting and has been indicted by a Fayette County Grand Jury.

Crawford is currently being held in custody at a Federal corrections unit stemming from an arrest on an unrelated charge.
