SLM Day Camp Returns to Rutersville

SLM Day Camp will be the week of June 8 in Rutersville. Drop off as early at 7:45 a.m. and pick up at 12:15 pm. There is no charge for camp. Please call the office at (979) 249-3155 for details.

St. John in Ellinger will have breakfast church on Sunday, May 31 since no pastor was available. Come have breakfast and watch the recorded service in the fellowship hall.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church St. Mary’s Catholic Church mass is Sunday at 8 a.m.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Ellinger Tomato Festival The 89th Tomato Festival will be May 29-31. There will be a BBQ cook off Friday and Saturday with live music both nights, along with Mason Jar drink trailer and R&R shaved ice trailer. The awards ceremony will be Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Try your hand at the Tomato Toss contest at 4 p.m. on Saturday and win cash prizes. The live auction is later at 7 p.m. just after a grilled steak contest.

Tell the kids to bring the swimsuit for a water slide and bouncy house on Saturday.

The weekend concludes with a drive-through fried chicken lunch beginning at 10:30 a.m. for $15 a plate. Raffle tickets are still being sold and the drawing will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling (979) 966-8612.

Hermann Sons Life 

Members are asked to submit photos of their high school or college graduate to be featured in the Hermann Sons Life newsletter and social media. Photos must be a head shot and include such information as contact information, name of school they are graduating from and future plans. Send to elaines@hermannsonslife. org.
