    Shots Fired, Reckless Driving Among Incidents in Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Dec. 14-23.

Accident

On Dec. 23, Officer James Whited was dispatched to an accident in the 100 block of Shorthorn Drive.

Agency Assist

On Dec. 14, Officer Byron Powe Responded to the 600 block of W. I-10 to assist for a box truck blocking both lanes of I-10. Assisted with traffic control.

On Dec. 15, Officer MD Krenek responded to the 500 block of College to assist regarding a CPS Case.

On Dec. 18, Powe responded to the 600 block of FM 2672 for a report of a black male sitting on the guardrail. Individual was identified and had multiple warrants out of Fayette County.

Animal Complaint

On Dec. 18, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 100 block of Simpson regarding a great Dane roaming the streets. Owner was contacted and advised of the complaint.

Burglary of Vehicle

On Dec. 16, Officer Reyden Svatek responded to the 600 block of Bohlmann for burglary of vehicle.

Disturbance

On Dec. 18, Whited was dispatched to the 200 block of W I-10 frontage road for a disturbance.

On Dec. 21, Svatek was dispatched to the 700 block of Kallus for a disturbance.

On Dec. 23, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 1500 block of Kellett for a disturbance.

Missing Person

On Dec. 18, Whited was dispatched to the 25 block of N. Kessler where mother advised she has not heard or seen her daughter. Individual was located in the Texan bathroom waiting for her shift to end. Individual notified her mother she was fine.

Reckless Driver

On Dec. 14, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 1500 block of S. Kessler for a white truck with a big rack in the back with red and blue lights running cars off the road.

On Dec. 19, Powe observed a vehicle driving recklessly in the 1400 block of Kessler with hazards on and speeding then slowing down. Driver stopped vehicle and driver had no signs of impairment, subject was upset stating she was leaving her boyfriend. Subject was released without incident.

On Dec. 21, Svatek was advised of a reckless driver in the 25 block of N. Kessler. Driver was located and contact was made. Individual was fine and there were no signs of impairment and no alcoholic beverages in his vehicle.

Shots Fired

On Dec. 23, Whited was dispatched to the 300 block of Schwartz Blvd. for shots fired. Residents on the area advised the shots were coming from someone in the county and pointed to a man wearing a camo shirt and black shorts and carrying a rifle. Officer advised dispatch.

Traffic Hazard

On Dec. 18, Whited was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for an 18-wheeler broke down in the middle of 77 North and I-10. Driver was having issues with a trailer brake connection. Driver was able to get the part he needed at the Pilot Travel Center and fixed and on his way.

Terroristic Threat

On Dec. 15, Krenek sat in on a threat assessment meeting involving a student. The proper paperwork was completed. Traffic Stop

On Dec. 15, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 800 block of Kessler. Driver received a citation for speeding.

On Dec. 15, Powe stopped a driver for expired registration (09-25) in the 14 block of N. Kessler. Driver received a warning.

On Dec. 15, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Citation was issued.

On Dec. 15, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.

On Dec. 16, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver did not have a driver s license. Two citations were given one for no driver’s license and one for speeding in a school zone.

On Dec. 16, Castilleja stopped a driver for speeding in the 100 block of Kessler. A warning was issued.

On Dec. 16, Castilleja stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of Kessler. A warning was issued.

On Dec. 17, Whited stopped a driver in the 82 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.

Miscellaneous

On Dec. 14, McFadden was dispatched to the 500 block of West Avenue for a patient possibly smoking marijuana. A smell of marijuana was coming from the room and a plastic tube containing hemp based cbd in a rolled-up cigarette was discovered. Administrator chose to take no action.
