Sen. Kolkhorst to Speak at Memorial Day Ceremony
American Legion Post 602 Women’s Auxiliary has planned another outstanding program for Memorial Day featuring Senator Lois Kolkhorst as guest speaker.
The ceremony will honor fallen veterans and feature the post’s honor guard, a gun salute by the rifle team, and entertainment by local musicians.
It all takes place under the pavilion at St. John’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m.

In honor of Memorial Day, city offices will be closed on Monday, May 25.
Outstanding Volunteer
Fayetteville resident Dr. Karen Bookout was awarded Outstanding Volunteer at the Gardenia E. Janssen “Mutt Gala” Fashion Extravaganza last Saturday night at the Rifle Hall. “The gala was a lot of fun,” stated Bookout. “I’m honored and wanted to mention that there are lots of dedicated volunteers who contribute their time to the shelter.”
She has given examinations, vaccinations and provided general veterinary care every Thursday for over two years. “I’m excited about launching a new spay and neuter program for cats at the shelter.”
St. Paul Lutheran
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 5 p.m., and Sundays at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Sundays at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9-9:45 a.m. Celebrations
