Native Texas Plants
The B Haus nursery will host an organizational meeting to establish a new chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas on Saturday, Nov. 15, 382 FM 2672 (High Hill Road) in Schulenburg. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. followed by Colton Bubela’s lecture on trees at 10 a.m. Charter Members can sign up between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Native Plant Society of Texas promotes conservation, research and utilization of native plants and habitats of Texas. Food Truck
The Central Texas Food Bank mobile food pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10-11 a.m.
Bingo For Seniors
Bingo for Seniors 60 and older plus guests will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 2 - 4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. $5/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips, snacks and drinks will be available for a free-will donation.

VFW Post 5254, Auxiliary to Meet
If you are a war-time Veteran, have dinner with VFW Post No. 5254 and Auxiliary, and see for yourself what VFW is about. La Grange Garden Club
The La Grange Garden Club will have an adjusted meeting date in November due to Thanksgiving. That date will be Thursday, Nov. 20 at regular meeting time of 11:30 a.m. for social time and at noon the program will begin at Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange. With holiday preparations on our minds, the program will focus on creating wreaths using natural elements we can find in our yards, pastures and woods.
Hermann Sons Life
Hermann Sons Life Round Top-Shelby Lodge will meet on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Round Top American Legion Hall. Happy Hour at 6 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m. Please make plans to attend. Christmas Craft Show
New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 N. Von Minden St. in La Grange, will have a Christmas Craft Show on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Over 26 booths filled with handcrafted items, jewelry, knitting, wood crafts, painting, primitive arts, and baked goods. Weimar Community Thanksgiving Service All are invited to the annual Weimar Community Thanksgiving Service hosted by Weimar United Church, 403 W. Main Street, on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. The service is sponsored by the Weimar Ministerial Alliance of Churches. Refreshments will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Father Chase Goodman of St. Michael’s Catholic Church will be the guest preacher. Other local clergy will be leading in various aspects of the evening service. The Holy Cross Couple’s Club will host their annual fried chicken dinner on Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Holy Cross picnic grounds in Warda. The Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum located at 311 Baumgarten St. in Schulenburg will host Drone Day on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Drone racing, career exploration, drone games in the factory, museum tours, and food vendors.
KC BBQ Turkeys

Job Training Class Scheduled
First Baptist Church of La Grange will host their first job training classes through their Equip Ministry: Relevant, Accessible Adult Education, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, from 5:45-6:45 p.m. This four-week session will offer introductory Google training, including Gmail and Google Docs. Participants do not need to bring their own devices, equipment will be provided. Class size is limited to 15 participants. Texas Master Naturalists
The Gideon Lincecum Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists is now taking applications for its 2026 training class. The class runs for nine Saturdays and five Monday night Zoom sessions from Jan. 10 through May 16, 2026. It blends classroom learning with hands-on field experiences in topics including Climatology, Herpetology, Botany, Ornithology, Soil Science, Pollinators, Mammalogy, Archaeology, Forest and Prairie Ecology and Citizen Science. This chapter serves Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Lee, and Washington counties, offering a wide array of projects and activities for graduates.
