Fall Roundup
Stray Gathering Cowboy Church, located at 211 West FM 2237 in Muldoon, will be having their Fall Roundup on Saturday, Oct. 4 starting at 10 a.m. There will be games for the kids, a Bouncy House, Cake/Dessert Walk, and 50/50 Raffle. A silent auction will be held all day till 3 p.m. The live auction will take place from 1-4 p.m. This year there will be vintage items along with fantastic items in the auction. There will be a Kid Bucket Raffle as well. Brisket, salads, dessert, and a drink will be served for $12. Kids under 12 eat free. Heifer raffle tickets will continue to be sold for $20. Drawing for the raffle winner will be held during the auction.
Join the Fayette Public Library for Adult Technology Training in La Grange on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. All computer questions welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. If your computer is giving you problems, bring it along. Six seats are available. Registration required. Call (979) 968-3765 to sign up.
Feed The Need
Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

For the Record on Page A2 & C3 On Oct. 4, starting at 9 a.m. St. Barnabas’s Anglican Church will make available to those desiring it, the blessing of their animals as it was available for the first time last year. This is in conjunction with the monthly gathering of the Farmers’ Market at Bishop Pavilion. Those who desire such a blessing are asked to bring their animals on a leash or in a cage (or lovingly, firmly held). Stop by the parish’s prayer booth under the cover of the pavilion for details.
Lions Sealy Dance Club
The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St. in Sealy. The Scott Wilkinson & Ez Country Band will be providing live music from 7:30-11 p.m. The public is welcome.

RT Family Library Presents
The Round Top Family Library, in partnership with Turtle Wing Foundation, presents Life and Independent Living Skills Workshop for ages 8 and up with instructors Katie Delgadillo and Stephanie Galvez on Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. - noon. This one day workshop will focus on team building, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy. Through a mix of group and individual projects, participants will learn how to navigate conflicts effectively and turn challenges into opportunities. Engaging art and STEM activities will be incorporated to reinforce these valuable skills in a creative and hands-on way. Class is free and registration is required. Keep Burton Beautiful Event
The Burton Beautification Association is excited to announce its 2nd annual fundraising event, a fun-filled event of community, great food, live entertainment, and fundraising to help keep Burton beautiful at Laas Weeren City Park, 12500 Texas Street, Burton, on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 2-7 p.m. The event will be held with a rain date of Oct. 18. Tickets are $30, which includes six tokens to be used for food and drinks. Guests will enjoy sausage on a stick or bun, craft beer, wine, refreshing beverages all available for purchase with tokens. Premium cigars will be available to purchase. Live music and karaoke, yard games perfect for all ages. A silent auction with exciting items and experiences up for bid. Community Prayer Gathering
Everyone is invited to the monthly Community Prayer Gathering this Sunday, Oct. 5. This is an area wide multi-church sponsored event. We meet the first Sunday of each month at Redimidos por Cristo church which is located across the street from Tejas Healthcare. The address is 131 S. College St. La Grange. We start at 5 p.m. Please join us as we pray for our local community, our nation and our world.
Mammograms at Tejas Health Care Mammograms are coming to Tejas Health Care located at 890 E. Travis St. in La Grange, on Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. The Rose is a Houston based non-profit breast health provider. Low income and uninsured local women may qualify for financial assistance for the screenings. Organizers said they are nearly full for the October event, but they’re still accepting applications in case of cancellations. Additionally, they have another uninsured events scheduled at their Giddings location on Dec. 9 and have begun scheduling for that day. For more information, call (979) 968-2000.
American Legion Post, Auxiliary Meeting The American Legion Post and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. Members are encouraged to attend the meetings of both the Post and the Auxiliary to discuss routine business matters. The Auxiliary members will hear the plans being made for the annual Poppy distribution for Veterans Day, also the 2026 Membership Dues may be paid at this meeting. New potential members are always welcome to attend for both the Post and Auxiliary. A light meal will be served, with the regular business meetings to follow.

La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Fall Clean Up Days
The City of La Grange has designated Oct. 10-17 as Fall Cleanup Days. The City will pick up one free load of brush during these days. One load of brush is defined as not more than one pickup truck load. If you have logs, separate them from the branches. Also, make sure there is no trash, no piles of leaves, no lumber, or construction debris mixed in with the brush. The following schedule will be observed: Oct. 10 and 14 - South Side of the city (Travis St. - Hwy. 71 Bus.); Oct.15 and 16 - North Side of the city; Oct. 17 - Cedar Creek and bypass. The North Central Fayette County Wildlife Management Co-op is having their Annual Fall Meeting on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Round Top Rifle Hall.
