One Act Play Town Performances Are Friday and Saturday
The La Grange High School one-act play group, which advanced to Area this year, will perform their play “These Shining Lives” Friday and Saturday this week at the La Grange Performing Arts Center (656 E Travis St).
Friday’s performance begins at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s performance begins at 11 a.m.
There is no admission charge, but attendees can make a free-will donation that goes to the LHS theatre program.
The play, written by Melanie Marnich, is based on the true story of four women who worked for the Radium Dial Company - a watch factory based in Illinois. The play showcases the danger women faced in the workplace and highlights the wider lack of concern companies had for protecting the health of their employees.
