As summer comes to a close this week for many kids in Fayette County and as they head back to school we plan to feature five new area teachers, one from each school district in Fayette County.

First up in this installment is Kyle Tidwell who is a new Middle School PE teacher at La Grange ISD.

And there is no question about it, Tidwell is ready to start the new school year, “I am excited about it. The middle school principal Dr. Otto has a phenomenal staff in place. Every question I have they have been more than willing to help me find the answer to it.”

Tidwell is a Nashville, Tenn. native who went to a small town public school just 30 minutes west of Nashville from kindergarten through 8th grade and then transferred to Nashville Christian, a private school for his high school years.

After high school, Tidwell went on to student coach football at The University of Tennessee and when looking for the right school to work for in Texas Tidwell knew just what he was looking for, “I was blessed enough to have many interviews when I was looking to work my way to Texas. Obviously, the factor of working alongside Coach Kates and soaking up all the knowledge he has of the game of football was a big factor. I thought La Grange had the most genuine staff out of all the places I went to interview. I believe it all starts at the top and trickles down. If I was going to be 12 hours away, I wanted to be somewhere that felt like home.”
