La Grange Family Health Making Big Move/Expansion

La Grange Family Health Center, a family practice serving the La Grange and Giddings communities, has announced their plans to relocate from its current office at 1253 N. Von Minden and expand into the St. Mark’s Medical Office Building, The practice plans to open its doors at its new location at 2 St. Mark’s Place - Suite 110, La Grange, TX 78945, in the spring of 2026, providing enhanced space, improved patient flow, and capacity for continued growth.

Officials from La Grange Family Health said the move reflects the practice’s ongoing commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality care to families throughout Fayette County and beyond.

“We’re excited to have more space and be in a professional and established facility everyone recognizes. We are also excited about the hospital’s plans to reopen under new management soon, which will further increase opportunities to serve the community.” said Dr. Thomas Borgstedte of La Grange Family Health.

While the hospital, formerly known as, St. Mark’s Medical Center, closed back in Oct. 2023, the adjacent St. Mark’s Medical Office Building has remained open, allowing providers to continue serving patients. Now La Grange Family Health will be part of the renewal of the medical center campus.

“We’ve been here for 19 years (in the Von Minden St. site), and it’s served us well for 19 years but we’ve been looking for an opportunity to expand,” said Dawn Blackwell, La Grange Family Health’s CFO. “We’re busting at the seams.”

The new facility will expand La Grange Family Health’s space from between 2,000-2,500 square feet at the current facility to approximately 5,000 in the new space at St. Mark’s Medical Office Building. Amazingly, La Grange Family Health expects to shift their operations to the new location without any patient service interruption.

“We will not have a significant shutdown, and will maybe close early on a Friday afternoon and work through the weekend to move in,” Blackwell said.

St. Mark’s Medical Office Building is a professional medical office building strategically located in La Grange and designed to support a collaborative healthcare environment. With La Grange Family Health Center establishing a presence within the building, St. Mark’s Medical Office Building continues to strengthen its role as a growing healthcare campus for the region.
