Joe Bailey Family Marks 50th Anniversary of Ranch Ownership
Over the Christmas Holidays, the Joe Bailey family of East Parker Road celebrated the 50th anniversary of buying their ranch from the Rightmer family.
They hosted all 17 family members at their ranch to celebrate this momentous occasion. They have enjoyed being a part of this small community and have been active in the gatherings of the East Parker Road group.
Muldoon was blessed when the Bailey family came to reside in our little community. Out and About
Ron and Pam Knotts spent Christmas this year near Centerville with their older son Kelly and his wife and family. Thanks to some extra tree trimming they were able to set up their travel trailer near Kelly’s barndominium. Granddaughters Maddy and Gabby were both home for a change, so everyone had stories to catch up on. Kelly provided wonderful breakfasts every day and grilled steaks on Christmas Day. One day the girls went shopping while Ron and Kelly took to the woods. Family time is the best.
Dana and Darrell Kulak had a surprise visit from Darrell’s brother and sister-in-law, John David and Karen Kulak of Iago. They had a great time catching up, hanging out, and spending time with each other.
Illness in Area
The crazy winds along with the temperature variations have contributed to many still being sick in the area. Allergies along with the flu and a few other bugs have been making the rounds and have slowly gone through many of the local families. Just a reminder to check on your neighbors and make sure they are staying well.
Church News
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is holding a Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 17 beginning at 7:30 a.m. Area men are invited to come and join in this gathering of like-minded Christian men as they enjoy a hearty cowboy breakfast and then some deep diving into the scripture.
The old fashioned “Tent Revival” is deep in the planning stages at The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church. The date is set for April 18 on their new property off FM 609 and Valenta Road they will be hosting “Teddy Bear” Dwayne Williams, Christine Scott and Jackie Cox as the featured evangelist. This will be the inaugural major event on the property and SG2C would like to invite the entire community to come out and be a part of the start of this great God movement in the Muldoon area.
Weather
Muldoon has been on the warm side for the beginning of 2026. The first week of the year saw some very heavy fog settle in and limit the driving visibility. While the fog brought some dampness the area is still extremely dry. Rain is much needed to help bring the moisture levels back up and fill up the area tanks.
Road Hazards
With the drier weather the animals have taken to moving more. Hogs are out and about more and more. They are crossing the roads and getting hit. Drive with caution when out and about. Just a reminder to keep an eye out for movement, so you can try and avoid hitting something. Hogs are big and can cause lots of damage to a vehicle.
After the animals are hit then the scavengers come out and become another hazard to avoid. Slow down, honk and watch out for them flying up as you approach.
