Invenergy Volunteers with American Legion, Celebrates Flatonia ISD Teachers
Invenergy, North America’s largest privately held developer, owner, and operator of innovative, reliable power infrastructure, and operator of the nearby 7V Solar Ranch, continued its commitment to Fayette County this month by volunteering with American Legion Post 143 in Schulenburg ahead of Memorial Day and supporting the Flatonia Independent School District (ISD) during Teacher Appreciation Week earlier this month.
Invenergy honored Schulenburg area veterans for Memorial Day by volunteering with American Legion Post 143 to place flags in the local cemetery ahead of the day of remembrance.
“Memorial Day is an opportunity for American communities to come together to remember the sacrifice of those who served and lost their lives for our freedom,” said Bob Heinrich, Commander, American Legion Post 143. “Knowing that local leaders like our friends at Invenergy recognize the significance of this day and lend their time to pass along this tradition only deepens the sense of community and respect Memorial Day engenders.”
Invenergy also honored a local school district this month by cooking and serving lunch for teachers during Flatonia ISD’s teacher appreciation week and by presenting the ISD with a $1,000 donation to support teachers and students.
“Community support can take a variety of shapes, and at Invenergy, supporting students, their educators, and our veterans are all avenues that foster innovation and empower local talent,” said Karen Leighton, Administrative Assistant, Invenergy. “These recent donations underscore not only our investment in the technical expertise and leadership of veterans in the workforce today, but also the possibilities and impact that education will have on the leaders of tomorrow.”
Located in Fayette County, the 7V Solar Ranch is a 240 MW solar power generation facility developed, built and owned by Naturgy.
