Ezra Charles, the renown Houston piano player, will perform a benefit concert at and for the Fayetteville Community Center on Fayetteville’s Square. An evening of soulful jazz and blues will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. Experience the electrifying performance of Ezra Charles, a true piano legend in the Texas music scene. Known for his dynamic stage presence and heartfelt lyrics, Ezra brings a casual, conversational evening for this show with his trio format, sharing the stories related to his songs.

A singer, songwriter, and bandleader, Ezra had his start performing with Johnny and Edgar Winter in Beaumont, Texas. He was the leader of Thursday’s Children, a rock band from Houston in the 1960s. He has led Ezra Charles and the Works band from 1983 to the present, now billed as Ezra Charles’ Texas Blues Band.ARice University graduate, he is also known for inventing the Helpinstill Piano Pickup used by internationally famous touring musicians, including Elton John.
