Faison House to Host Summer Classical Concert Featuring Round Top Institute Musicians

The Faison Preservation Society will host its annual Summer Classical Piano Concert on Sunday, June 7, at the Historic N.W. Faison House in La Grange.

The concert will begin at 2 p.m. at the historic home located at 822 S. Jefferson St., across from the Fayette Public Library.

This year’s performance will feature two pianists studying at the Round Top Festival Institute, along with special guest violinist Christiano Rodrigues.

Sophia Lin of Mountain View, Calif., and Stephanie Zou of Toronto, Canada, are scheduled to perform during the concert.

Lin holds degrees from Northwestern University and Johns Hopkins University and most recently studied at the University of Miami.

Zou earned degrees from the University of Toronto and McGill University and will begin studies at the University of Utah this fall.

Rodrigues, a native of Brazil, studied at Oberlin University, Rice University and Arizona State University. He currently serves on the faculty at Washington State University and the Round Top Festival Institute. Rodrigues is also scheduled to perform with the Texas Festival Orchestra on June 13.

The annual concert series has featured a number of accomplished musicians over the years, including Round Top Festival Institute founder James Dick, pianist Miles Gillette-Bockhorn and Blinn College Young Pianist Competition winner Natalie Su.

Tickets are $30, and seating is limited to 20 guests.
