LG’s Dobbins Returns to Texas for Playoff Opener
La Grangenative and former Leopard star running back J.K. Dobbins may have his own special cheering section in Houston Saturday.
Dobbins leads the Los Angeles Chargers into their first round playoff game Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Houston against the Texans. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
Despite missing four games this season with a knee injury, Dobbins closed the regular season with career-high marks in rushing attempts (195) and rushing yards (905). Dobbins rushed the ball 18 times for 63 yards in Sunday’s 34-20 win over the Raiders in the regular season final.
He is considered one of the favorites to win the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award after bouncing back from several injury-riddled seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before becoming a free agent last season Dobbins, now 26, graduated a semester early from LHS where he ran for 5,149 yards and scored 74 TDs.
He enrolled in the spring of 2017 at Ohio State University, where he was a star for the Buckeyes for three seasons before being drafted in the second round by Baltimore in 2020.
