Carmine-Round Top Bunco Group Meets

CARMINE News

The Carmine-Round Top Bunco group met Dec. 16 at the home of Darlene Etzel. All twelve original members were present. The group started in March, 1995.

Beautiful Christmas decorations, including a Christmas village, adorned the home.

Present were Susan Bathe, Debbie Eckert, Nancy Eilers, Cathy Gau, Debbie Jacob, Linda Levien, Marie Loewe, Lisa Mayer, Leonita Sanders, Colette Wunderlich, and Rene’ Zwernemann.

RT-C School News 

The Round Top-Carmine State Semifinal 2024 volleyball team was honored on Dec. 13 after the basketball game. Team members were presented their state trophy and medals from the UIL.

Principal RaChelle Kuecker led the ceremony. All of the team members, including players, managers, and coach had their turn to speak.

After the ceremony, the girls signed photographs of their team photo.

The next games for the RT-C girl’s and boys’ basketball teams will be on Friday, Jan. 3 when both teams host Dime Box. The first game begins at 5 p.m.

Classes will resume in 2005 on Jan. 9. Teachers return for a workday on Jan. 7. Jan. 8 is a professional development day.

Burn Ban 

A burn ban remains in effect for Fayette County.

We are very thankful for 1.5 inches of rain received in Carmine the weekend of Dec. 14 and 15.

Recycling Trailer 

The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.

They accept clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.

MLLC News 

The Lutheran Youth Organization will lead the Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. They will present a drama.

Christmas Day worship with Holy Communion is Wednesday at 10 a.m.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion, observing the First Sunday after Christmas, is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday Worship with Holy Communion is at 10 a.m.

The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
