A local businessman suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash in La Grange on Thursday, June 29. The wreck happened around 10:30 a.m.
Woman Dies in I-10 Wreck

A woman from Beaumont died in a fiery crash on Interstate 10 near Schulenburg on Saturday, July 1. The crash happened around 12:25 p.m. on Interstate 10 at the FM 2672 overpass just west of Schulenburg, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Robyn Michelle Isadore, 49 of Beaumont, was driving a 2015 Freightliner tanker truck east in the outside lane. The report said the front right tire blew out. Isadore lost control of the rig. The truck went into the shoulder, struck a bridge support column and burst into flames.

A big crowd showed up for the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) open house on the US 77 Feasibility Study at the VFW Hall in La Grange last Thursday, June 29. TxDOT hosted the open house to gather public input over possible changes to US 77 in the La Grange area aimed at improving traffic safety, especially in regard to 18-wheeler crashes.
Supak Excelling in Double-A

Former La Grange High School standout pitcher Trey Supak is pitching very well for the Oakland A’s Double-A minor league affiliate, the Midland Rockhounds. Supak has a 4-0 record with a 4.58 ERA in 21 games with Midland this season, all as a reliever.
Erica Otto Piling Up the Accolades as Two-Sport Athlete at Southwestern University

Erica Otto of Schulenburg was named to the Southwestern University Spring 2023 Dean’s List, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Student- Athlete Academic Honor Roll, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Honorable Mention Outfielder and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District. She was inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Society and received the Tri Delta Theta Epsilon New Member Academic Award.
