Two Arrested, Three Still At Large Near Ellinger

Update June 1, 3:22 p.m. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office released the following statement this afternoon concerning the events in Ellinger early this morning:

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that early Monday morning at approximately 12:20 AM Deputy Herman Olvera heard dispatch relay information from the Austin Police Department regarding a vehicle involved in a burglary of a pharmacy in Austin that was believed to be traveling Eastbound towards Fayette County. Olvera located the vehicle traveling on Highway 71 and attempted to stop the vehicle. At that time the suspect vehicle attempted to speed away and flee the area and Deputy Olvera began pursuing the vehicle. After being pursued the vehicle stopped in the Ellinger area and 5 suspects dressed in dark long sleeve clothing fled from the vehicle on foot. Deputy Olvera was able to pursue one of the suspects on foot and apprehend them as well as securing the vehicle involved in the incident. A large amount of prescription medications were located inside the suspect vehicle.

A second suspect was later located on foot in the area and taken into custody as well while three other suspects remained at large. Sheriff Korenek states that increased patrols were being maintained in the Ellinger area by FCSO Patrol Deputies and Investigators in the event the other suspects were still to surface in the area. The Sheriff also stated that Fayette County Dispatch initiated the Emergency notification system to alert citizens of the incident and ask them to report any suspicious activity.

Arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center were 40 year old Aaron Miller and 31 year old Frederick Wills both of Houston. The subjects were charged with Evading Arrest and are also awaiting charges from the Austin Police Department in regards to the burglary.

Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies arrested two suspects who were wanted for a pharmacy burglary in Austin early this morning, June 1. Three suspects may still be at large.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday June 1, the Fayette County Sheriffs Office was notified of a burglary that occurred at a pharmacy in Austin and that the suspected vehicle was possibly headed into Fayette County on State Hwy. 71. Deputies located the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the Ellinger area where several subjects wearing all dark, long sleeve clothing fled from the vehicle.

Lt. David Beyer of the Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested one suspect soon after the stop. They apprehended another suspect around 5:45 a.m. The Sheriff's Office believes three other suspects may still be at large. Beyer said he does not believe the suspects are armed. 

Beyer said the Sheriff's Office has posted five patrol units in the Ellinger area to look for the remaining suspects. Anyone with information about these suspects should contact the Fayette County Sheriff's Office by calling (979) 968-5856.
