Giddings Times & News

• The Giddings City Council has selected Jim Webb, AICP and the Goodman Corporation to spearhead a new economic development plan with a focus on redevelopment of the city’s downtown. The strategic planning process will begin this month and is being funded by a $30,000 grant awarded late last year by the Texas Department of Agriculture through a pilot program introduced by TDA this year on behalf of small to mid-sized cities in need.

• The Lee County Sheriff’s Office recovered a Winchester 16-gauge shotgun that had been taken during a residential burglary in Nov. 1988. The complainant in the case was the residence of Lynn Bradberry on CR 200 in Lee County, where numerous firearms were stolen. Bradberry was able to provide the serial numbers to his firearms which were then entered into the National Crime Information Center database. There is no expiration on the retention time.
