Division Widens in Hospital Debate

In the ever-increasing division that has been created between the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ camps of the Fayette County hospital taxing district vote (Election day is June 13, but more than 2,000 have voted early as of press time with a week of early voting left) now it appears tough to even get both parties in the same room.

That division was underscored Wednesday at the fourth in a series of meeting hosted by the Concerned Taxpayers of Fayette County, this one in La Grange at the fairgrounds.

No representatives from the Save St. Mark’s organization attended, marking the second consecutive such meeting they have spurned.

Instead the Save St. Mark’s organization has announced their own series of four informational meetings, the first of which was set for Monday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall in La Grange, Tuesday in Schulenburg and Wednesday in Flatonia.
