Burglars Get In and Out of LG Subway in 18 Seconds

Five Area Subway Restaurants Suffer Similar Break-Ins

Burglars struck the Subway stores in La Grange, Smithville and Flatonia over a four-day period between Saturday and Tuesday, May 4 to 7.

Subway stores in El Campo and Wharton were also burglarized during that time. Investigators believe all five break-ins are related.

According to surveillance video, the first break-in happened at the La Grange Subway on Jefferson Street around 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. The video showed three hooded figures breaking out the front door glass with what appears to be a crow bar.

Two of the individuals jumped over the counter. One ran to the back of the store and grabbed a bag of change. The other took a cash register box from under the counter and handed it to a third person. All three then ran out of the store.
