10,000 Cyclists Expected in La Grange This Weekend

This year, the 35th Annual BP MS 150 bike ride will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28.

Riders (including five from La Grange, one from Fayetteville and one from Round Top) will be staying overnight in La Grange again on Saturday night at the Fayette County Fairgrounds. The 2019 ride is being billed as “more than the ride of a lifetime.” This year, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society aims to raise over $13.5 million to create a world free of multiple sclerosis, drive MS research forward faster and deliver services to those who face the challenges of MS. This is the 19th year that BP is sponsoring the ride.

On Day 1, there will be three official start points in the Houston area, including one new route this year. The new starting location and route begins at Energy Corrider: Addicks Park N Ride in Houston, and entails a 95.7-mile ride to La Grange. The route beginning at Rhodes Stadium in Katy is 83.3 miles to La Grange, and the route beginning at Waller Stadium in Waller is 75.6 miles to La Grange. All riders must be off the route starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.
