Mustang Burns in Parking Lot

La Grange Fire Chief Frank Menefee (center) attempts to put out a car fire in the H-E-B parking lot Tuesday afternoon as Police Officer Bret Meinardus (left) brings him another fire extinguisher. It eventually took a fire truck to put out the flames. The owner of the yellow Ford Mustang, Brenna Hill, said she smelled something like rubber burning when she parked her car to go in the store, but she did not see any smoke or flames. A fire started under the hood while she was inside. Firefighters contained the flames to under the hood, but the engine compartment suffered major damage.
