RV Park Owner Hopes Line Upgrades Eliminates Sewer Runoff

There’s a gusher at Charlo Whorton’s Colorado Landing RV park at the end of West Cedar Street in La Grange. Actually there are three of them. The problem is, it isn’t oil that’s gushing, it’s a mixture of raw sewage and rain runoff which flows out of three manholes on Whorton’s property from the City’s overwhelmed water system. One is a storm drain which empties on his property, the other two are connected to the City sewer system. Whorton said the problem stems from at least 2004 when he bought the property. “It’s costing me too much business,” he said.
