Rural Non-Profit Networking Group Meets In Weimar

The monthly gathering of the Rural Non-Profit Networking Group (RNNG) was held on Friday, Aug. 3 and was hosted by the Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents-as-Teachers (PAT). The gathering was held at the First United Methodist Church in Weimar.

Pastor Susan Rang was the keynote and shared how their little church, which averages an attendance of 25 at Sunday worship, has a specific mission to make disciples for the transformation of Weimar. FUMC in Weimar is the ultimate collaborator for local non-profits, literally opening their doors and housing numerous organizations like utilizing the Scout Hut are Boys Scout Troop 228, Girls Scouts, and AA.

Pastor Rang also participates in the Ministerial Alliance, which not only assists local citizens in need but those passing through and needing assistance in reaching their destination. FUMC additionally assists at the Weimar Food Pantry, brings worship service and communion to the residents of Parkview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, and brings their version of VBS to the Boys and Girls Club for those who wish to participate.
