Courthouse Restoration Paid Off

Iconic Building Gets Crowning Jewel Last Week

The Fayette County Courthouse is finally paid off.

The County took out a $1.98 million certificate of obligation back in 2003 for the courthouse restoration project. It actually took nearly $6 million to complete the job. The County secured state grants to pay for the other $4 million. The loan was a 15 year note with a 4.35 percent interest rate.
