Examining ‘Untouched’ Nature of Fayetteville

“They don’t like change ... I moved the potato chips next to the front door six months ago and people still complain about it.”

The City of Fayetteville got an honorable mention in a David Courtney’s Texanist column in the latest issue of Texas Monthly. The column was titled “Great Small Towns That Have Gone Untouched by a Hipster.”

The hip crowd has certainly made inroads in northern Fayette County in recent years. The antiques shows in Round Top and Warrenton definitely attract birds of that feather. But Fayetteville has somehow avoided the trappings of skinny jeans and soy milk lattes.
