CDA Holds Annual Family Dinner and Anniversary Celebration

The Annual Family Dinner and 52nd Anniversary of Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange, Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) took place at the beautifully renovated Knights of Columbus Community Center. It was held Sunday, April 22, beginning with a social hour at 3:30 p.m. followed by the welcome given by the Toastmistress, Regent Mary Lou Anderle, and Invocation and Prayer before the meal given by Court Chaplain Rev. Fr. Matthew Kinney.

The Court’s Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas (JCDA) held their annual raffle fundraiser drawing while everyone dined on roast beef, buttered potatoes, Tuscan vegetables along with all the scrumptious side dishes that the members provided.

After dinner the program began with Regent Anderle introducing those seated at the head table, namely State Secretary Carolyn Ritchey and her husband Frank from Sealy, State Treasurer Mary Jane Albert from Houston, District No. 11 Deputy Janet Purdy from Weimar, Rev. Fr. Matthew Kinney and Deacon Mike Meismer who are the Court Annunciation Chaplain and Spiritual Advisor respectively, Fr. Dan Kahlich and Deacon John McCourt and his wife Eileen from the Hostyn and Plum parishes, and Court officers, Vice Regent Monica Heine and husband Donald, Financial Secretary Peggy Sulik and husband Ron, Treasurer Anna Boyd, and Recording Secretary Jolene Byrd and husband Marshal who were unable to attend. Given recognition were JCDA State Second Vice President Claire Supak from La Grange, Court Annunciation #1962 members who serve as state chairmen, namely State JCDA Co-Chairman Peggy Supak, State Ways and Means Chairman Cynthia Novak, State Campus Courts Chairman and District No. 60 Deputy Terri Wagner, and State Legislation Chairman Judy Evanicky who was unable to attend. Acknowledged for her presence was 105 years of age member Lillie Sulak who received a standing ovation.
