Local Wildlife Organization Celebrates Quarter Century

There are five wildlife management associations in Fayette County. The oldest and largest, started 25 years ago, is the North Central Wildlife Management Association which covers an area fairly contiguous with Fayette County Precinct 2. Overall, the Northern Fayette County association covers about 75,000 square acres and has over 200 members.

Norman Schultz and association newsletter editor Fred Wernette dropped by the Record office last week. The newsletter is a sturdy eight-page job with lots of photos submitted by members, columns on various happenings generally involving animals and announcements. It is published quarterly. Schultz had his arms full of scrapbooks, plaques and other NCFCWMA memorablia – enough material for a sizable book.
