Remember when?

March 8-12, 1968

U.S. Army Master Sergeant Edgar J. Brossmann, 38, of Schulenburg was killed in Vietnam. A veteran of the Korean War and only weeks away from completing 20 years in the service, Brossmann lost his life when Communist mortars and rockets shelled the 9th Medical Battalion Base at Tan An on Feb. 28. Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Florence Heger Brossmann, three sons and a daughter, all of San Antonio, as well as his mother, Mrs. Joe Brossmann of Schulenburg and a brother and five sisters. Funeral services were planned at the National Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston with full military honors. Brossmann was a 1947 graduate of Schulenburg High School.
