Hurricane Aftermath: 500-Gallon Propane Tank From La Grange KC Hall Washes Up Near Ellinger

After the floodwaters receded following Hurricane Harvey last summer, Kenny and Susan Zapalac found a lot of stuff from La Grange that washed up on their property, which is located along the Colorado River at the end of Zapalac Road near Ellinger, including a 500 gallon propane tank.

The tank had a Fayetteville Propane sticker on it, so Kenny Zapalac called the company to let them know about it. When Fayetteville Propane checked the serial number on the tank, they figured out where it came from: the La Grange KC Hall. The tank travelled about 11 miles down river during the flood. It made landfall about 300 yards north of the main river channel near a spot in the river that old timers call the “Big Bend,” located near the mouth of Williams Creek.
